Education Project Site Visit: Norwich Lower School
Last Thursday we visited the Lower School extension at Bishopgate, which is now nearing completion. It’s been fantastic to see the progress up close and appreciate how this project is coming together. Continuing our long-running relationship with Norwich School over the years, our latest project is the Lower School extension. The design has been carefully considered to create modern, high-quality learning spaces while respecting the school’s historic surroundings.
With the medieval flint Precinct Wall, The Great Hospital, and beautiful views of Norwich Cathedral nearby, this has been a unique and sensitive project that balances old and new. One of the key aims of this extension was to give the Lower School a stronger presence in the city, as it was previously quite hidden. The new design provides a welcoming and visible entrance, integrating seamlessly into the historic setting while delivering much-needed space for students and staff. The two-storey extension sits comfortably within the site, ensuring it enhances rather than overwhelms its surroundings.
A huge well done to everyone involved in delivering this fantastic new space – we can’t wait to see it finished!
