Site visit to The Place, the new public library and university centre for Great Yarmouth!
We are nearing completion of the redevelopment of the former Palmers Department Store in Great Yarmouth. Like many towns a large, vacant building on the high street sat empty and is being repurposed as a centre for lifelong learning.
This involves the relocation of the public library and a collaboration between East Coast College and University of Suffolk to provide degree courses in the town centre.
Chaplin Farrant recently hosted two site visits to show progress as we near the end of construction. We were pleased to welcome members of the NFCI as well as an internal visit for colleagues at Chaplin Farrant. Site visits are a great way to gain experience of live construction sites and better understand the complexities of building what we draw.
Not long to go before the doors officially open and we are very excited about how fabulous the spaces are turning out!
