The Place, Great Yarmouth – Official Opening!
What do you do with a department store that’s no longer used? How can you improve the high street? How do you raise aspirations for residents? Is it possible to do all of these things?
These were just some of the questions that were asked nearly four years ago, and the answer is yes, you can do all of this, with a collaborative team, ambition and determination.
We were delighted to be at the official opening of The Place in Great Yarmouth last week — a bold and inspiring new community hub at the heart of the town.
The Place brings together the town’s library, adult learning, a registry office and other key services — creating a central, accessible hub for learning, creativity, and connection.
It’s a great space designed to support the community for years to come — open, inclusive and built for the communities it serves. This project has been an incredible journey, and we’re delighted to have played our part in bringing this important space to life.
A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in delivering this project — a true example of regeneration through collaboration.
