Detail: The original Courthouse Frontage has been preserved, with the new extension at the rear designed to create an obvious definition between old and new. The new additions were designed to be in-keeping with the existing building, with full height glazing surrounding the retained Courthouse to create a division between the aesthetic of the entrance and new office block.

The building is set within sympathetic hard and soft landscaping, with the original rose garden to the front of the building reinstated.

Chaplin Farrant were involved from conception through to completion on site in January 2018, incuding OJEU tender issue, evaluation and award.

Challenges: During demolition and construction of the new office block, the base had to remain open as a fully functional deployment base. Due to this, the development had to be split into 2
phases to minimise the impact and disruption to staff.
