These two independent projects allow Chaplin Farrant to draw on their NHS and healthcare design experience to provide facilities for the veterinary practices that replicate the standards required by NHS and healthcare design.

The veterinary practice in Fakenham required a small first floor extention and a refurbishment of internal facilities.  The project involved the installation of two operating theatres, a preparation area, an xray machine and an MRI scanner which were housed in a previously redundant area of the building.  The offices were also refurbished with a lift and staircase added to provide access to the first floor.

At Lumbry Park in Hampshire, the facilities were completely refurbished and now include:
a new kennel run; MRI scanning room; CT scanner room; Xray room; 7 no. consulting rooms; 4 no. operating theatres and ICU room; endoscopy facilities; a laboratory; a new reception; a pharmacy and separate dog and cat waiting areas. The facilities meet high hygiene and DDA standards.

Staff facilities include a new kitchen, male and female changing areas, admin facilities and a meeting room.

Lumbry park received a special President’s Award at the British Veterinary Hospital Association’s (BHVA’s) Practice Design Awards.  The Award recognises the ‘outstanding working environment’ created at Lumbry Park,
