64 New Affordable Homes in Brandon
Work has been completed on the final phase of our Brandon project for Places for People / Cotman HA.
Chaplin Farrant were commissioned to design 64 affordable homes on a brownfield site via a mix of dwellings from 1 bed bungalows to 4 bed houses which are available to rent or via a shared equity scheme.
Once occupied by a timber yard, this brownfield site had laid vacant for 10 years and despite having residential planning permission, the site had not been re-developed. Chaplin Farrant obtained a revised planning permission in July 2015.
The scheme provides a clean and contemporary appearance with materials and details informed by the local vernacular. Prominent gables are treated with a raking brick detail which is inspired by a similar detail on Brandon railway station nearby the site.
