The facility was funded through several channels, the key being the sale of the original ground for housing development, although this was supported by fundraising within the club which raised over £250,000 through donations, special events and functions.  Sport England also provided funds towards the project.

The club has had to a 30% increase in membership, a 100% increase in club sponsorship and a 300% rise in pre-match lunches and game spectators.  In this first season the 1st Team has won the league and been promoted to London North-East Two, the Colts and Youth Teams have reached County and Regional Finals across the age groups and the Minis squads have increased in size, strength and ability.  The Women’s Team compete at a national level and there is now a Girls Section within the club.

“It’s a joy and a pleasure to come to such a fantastic facility to work” – Andrew Kilby, WRFC Chairman
